Primary Source

There are two different types of primary sources. The first of which is historical, for this you would find a source that was written during the time period your studying. Example: if you were studying Julius Caesars rise to power in Rome, a primary source would be a tablet or scroll written during that time.

The Second type is a primary source about current events, whither it be about a country or specific event. For this a Primary source is written by someone who witnessed or attended the event, or if your studying a country, it would be something written in that country, whither it be a news paper or government website. Example: if your studying Brazil, you would use a Brazilian government source, or a local news source. If it were an event like 9/11 a primary source would be video of the event or a source written by someone who was there when the towers were hit or falling.
